Cross Country Season 2024

The boys ended their 2024 season weeks ago so here I'm going to dump a ton of photos, probably not in order, of Jack first and then Luke. Jack's senior year is flying by and the season went even faster.
He ran well throughout the season. Here is the Ashley White Invitational. Now that I think about it, this was not the first race of the season.
Glen Oak Invitational, below. It's the first of the season and a large meet with about 20 schools
Below is a shot after Jack's last race. It was the Silver Springs Park (aka, Stow Inv) nearby.
Get him, Jack!
A proud mom with her "baby!"
Below is the CVNP (Cuyahoga Valley National Park) Invitational later in the season. It is very hilly. While virtually every course they run is faster than anything we run in NY, this is the exception. It's brutal and the only course you regularly see kids cry on. Now that is cross country.
After the CVNP meet at the host school with the mascot.
Jack with one of his friends.
Below, he fell off the team pack, which was one of the strengths of the squad. They had a good group who packed together well behind their top two.
Looking good, Jack!
The RHS team! A good bunch of kids.
One of Jack's teachers showed up at the Stow meet with this sign. She made it! What a nice gesture! It was senior day where they talk about the graduating runners. I'll try to post more photos of that soon.
Grandma and grandpa showed up for the meet.
It was a wonderful event. Jack ran well, but...
It turns out that Jack had mono during his last few races. He kept complaining of being exhausted and his performances started to suffer. He ran incredibly well considering. And yes, we got a "fat head" of our boy! You can often find it peering out one of the windows at our home.
The cross country banquet was a hoot. Below is Jack with the other graduating seniors.
Jack and his coach. The team has really turned around since "Paz" took over the high school team and his wife the middle school squad.
Luke had a good 8th grade season of cross country, too!
What the!? Laughing it up 400m into the race.
Luke takes a turn in a late-season meet.
Go Luke!
Anyone else think he looks older here?
A shot at the 2 mile mark.
Looking strong. More photos of his season soon.
I'm so far behind but will try to post more after the holiday.
