Spring break was a couple weeks ago. The boys had a few days at home before a
visit with their grandparents in Columbus.
We did a "watch party" from home to watch the Mandalorian series at the same time. The cats joined. I was fortunate enough to get the highly coveted double cat lap!
This is an unedited screen shot of Luke during our Kent-Columbus Facetimes. He made a 101 faces by my count. Such a serious boy!
They were treated to all sorts of fun! They were treated to Scene 75 for laser tag and Go Karts! There is this video of slime but it was saved as a short.
I had a conference in Cincinnati so we drove from together from Columbus. Separate cars so they could leave without waiting around for me as I got back late. Jack and I went together and what a pleasure it was talking with him the entire way. Once in Cincinnati we visited the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. It is a remarkable museum.
A somber visit but one the boys should experience. Jack was a bastion of information as he recently learned a few things about American history in school.
There was so much wonderful art like the tapestry below.
Directly across the river from Cincinnati is Kentucky. Ohio was a free state before Kentucky so Cincinnati was a hotbed of unrest.
The boys with our tour guide😉
102 faces!
We ate at Summit Park, which was walking distance from the hotel. The Brown Dog Cafe had some of the best burgers we've ever devoured.

We also visited Mary's brother, Jon. This is the only photo I thought to take. Mary is reading to her nephew.
It was a nice week. NEXT UP: Jack's first track meet and a big PR!
