Winter is here, Jon Snow, and so is the pain cave! This year’s training is underway in the pain cave. It’s the first time using a structured training program. I decided to go with TrainerRoad after listening to their podcast for a year.
The training plan is data-driven workouts organized into 6-week blocks, based on stress and power levels once you establish your FTP. The emphasis is on quality (intervals) instead of mileage. Strangely enough, I’m not getting any younger, so my chances of getting faster are negligible without a targeted approach. I can ride centuries in my retirement!
